“You always have to keep hope alive.” -Derrick Rose
Derrick Rose has a tattoo of the word “Hope” on his wrist because as a young man growing up, he was convinced all he needed was a chance to prove himself. As he says, “When things seem like they’re hard and you think you don’t have anyone else on your side and you feel alone, there’s always a chance.” He had hope and a protective family on his side to shield him from trouble so he could concentrate on his passion: basketball. The rest, as they say, is history. Today Derrick Rose thinks about kids everywhere growing up with the same background as his and he truly believes they can have the same hopes he had.
